Year 1
In year 1 of my degree, we focused on Sports Development Planning, Principles of International Sport Business and Sports Management in Practice. See below a portfolio of my work from this year.
SWOT Analysis of Derby County Football Club
My first University Project was a 1500 word report on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for Derby County Football Club. The report was related to the business side of the sporting organisation and how this contributes to their on-field success. I managed to obtain a 1:1 grade, the highest grade possible. Check out my work below.

Chinese Super League Paper Review
This project looked at an academic journal article, exploring the effects of star power on match attendance and revenue in the CSL, from Li et al. in 2017. Many CSL teams don't necessarily purchase the best players, but instead, well known players that will attract more fans - a very interesting read.

Reflective Practice of Experiences
This project enabled me to reflect on my experiences gained from my first academic year. Reflection is valuable in order to achieve and monitor my goals for the future and this was my first time using reflective practice, which I found very useful. Check out my work below.

Market Research for OCM Wealth Management
This project was voluntary work experience, to take part in the sponsorship process of an elite international netball athlete. I produced this PowerPoint on the sponsorship history of Netball, and made recommendations for the athletes sponsorships. I then also presented this to OCM, and had very positive feedback. Check out my work below.

Functions of Management Project
This project is the first part of a functions of management project I have undertook as a part of my University Course. This part looks at the theory behind: successful managers, SMART objectives, recruitment procedures, sports marketing segmentation and risk management. Part 2 will put this into a practical sense, keep an eye out for that soon!
